About Us

Welcome! This is the former home of the Boonville Art Barn, and it’s proprietess Susan Gross. Please email Susan directly at Susan@SusanGross.com if you are interested in workshops, teaching, artwork or…you just want to say hello!  We are located in the beautiful Anderson Valley, in Mendocino County, California.  (We are about 2.5 hours from San Francisco and about 45 minutes from Mendocino.)

Susan is a professional designer and illustrator and has been illustrating for over 25 years. From Joe Boxer PJ’s to Beringer wine labels to books and Nordstrom products, Susan has created distinctively sophisticated design solutions for a variety of clients. You can see some of her classic design work at www.SusanGross.com. She also teaches at Mendocino College, the Mendocino Art Center and served as Adjunct Professor at CCA in San Francisco.

Susan has discovered many new creative paths since she has been living in the country. Yes, she continues to create logos, illustrations and monoprints. In addition, she loves creating handmade books, paste paper collages and especially loves facilitating others in their creative growth. Please look at her blog to see what has been going on in her studio.

    Hi Susan,

I really enjoyed your Open House. I have some Encaustic Art Waxes and iron that I’m no longer using. Could you use these supplies.

I also have a lot of Southwest Art magazines – would be great with the wax art. Are you interested in these?

I also have a few wall paper books and material book (used for curtains) – would you like these?
